Berry Chocolate Smoothie Cups

21 Aug

Now that I have my glorious VitaMix back in my presence I have been going smoothie crazy :D

This month for The Recipe Redux, a great blogging group I am a member of (MORE INFO HERE), our assigned topic was “Raising the Bar on Food in a Jar.”  I absolutely love this theme!!  I try and use as little plastic as possible in my everyday life so mason jars are my go-to!!  For my post today I made one of my favorite time-saving recipes: Smoothie in a Jar

Smoothie in a Jar

Serves 1-2

For each mason jar (make as many as you’d like for the week):

2/3 cups greens

2 tablespoons raw almonds

2 tablespoons hemp protein powder, vanilla

For the smoothie (when you are ready to make it):

2/3 cups frozen mixed berries

1 cup chocolate almond milk

Directions:

Dump the contents of one mason jar into your VitaMix, or any strong blender.  Add in the frozen mixed berries and chocolate almond milk.  Blend on high until smooth.  Pour back into mason jar with lid to take with you on the go or enjoy right away (:

Looking to buy a VitaMix blender, but unsure if you’re ready to make the investment?

Buy your blender through me, by CLICKING HERE or using the button on the sidebar, and PAY NO SHIPPING!!  VitaMix does not pay me to say this… I honestly love mine and can’t picture my life before it <3, but since you would purchase through me to receive no shipping, I do get a percentage of the sale.

I think I need to use a jar to save my pennies to get me a Vitamix already so I can finally like green smoothies (the regular blender won’t do for these :)
