Between being vegan, a full-time student, and an almost-full-time employee of Whole Foods Market, it can be a challenge to get all of the essential nutrients the body needs in a day (there’s not always time to whip up a great dish of quinoa for a complete protein meal!). This is where Living Harvest Hemp Protein Powder comes in.
I was looking for something that could be added to smoothies in a pinch to provide a boost of protein and nutrients, and this stuff definitely delivers. I bought the Vanilla Spice Hemp Protein Powder and it added a pleasant flavor to my smoothie. Like most (if not all) hemp proteins, they can be gritty, but personally this hemp powder was very subtle and the slight grittiness didn’t bother me at all! In fact, it gave a bit of texture and body to the smoothie.
Living Harvest’s hemp protein powders have natural Omega-3’s and Omega-6’s, which can be a godsend for vegans. It also has lots of fiber, magnesium, iron, and of course protein. And at $17.95, for organic hemp goodness, I think that’s pretty dang good.
My only qualm with it was the appearance and smell, both can be a little off-putting. The powder is a swampy-green color and it unfortunately smells a little.. weird.
If you want to fill some gaps in your diet and add protein to it, I recommend this powder. I will be buying it again for sure!
